Our Services

Therefore we take care of everything that could make your journey difficult. Trust our experience. The first and all following contacts via e-mail or by telephone will be in your native language, so there will be no communication problems. With our expertise, we ensure that you come into the hands of the professor or specialists best-suited to your medical needs.
Of course, we take care of the immigration and visa formalities, too, having close contacts with all relevant embassies and government offices. A VIP shuttle service will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hospital of your choice. By this time, we will have already found and booked the desired hotel for your family. For children who need inpatient treatment, of course it is possible that the accompanying parent can stay with the child. The hospitals themselves are adjusted to your individual needs. You can order any meal you wish. There are prayer rooms, internet access as well as TV and newspapers in your native language. During your entire stay in the hospital you will be assisted by a native language service assistant, so that there will be no communication problems whatsoever during doctor calls and examinations.
This is all part of our service for our international patients. Of course, we are always at your side with support and advice and are happy to provide an entertainment program for your traveling companion. After your treatment is completed, we will creat the appropriate doctor's letter as soon as possible, which we will give you at the time of your discharge from the hospital.

Medical Check up

Health is your most valuable asset, your personal capital, your guarantee for a happy life. Not only work and stress, health risks such as smoking and alcohol, but also family problems can lead to illness. We will help you with a personal health check to identify risks and susceptibilities. If necessary we will treat you and/or intervene preventively to ensure that you stay healthy and are able to identify risk factors in the future.
Our specialists from different medical disciplines assess you proficiently and using an interdisciplinary approach. The health check always starts with a detailed personal interview in order to get to know you better and to be able to recommend the most appropriate examination available. The medical check-up includes early detection of risk factors like hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, protein excretion in urine, prevention of diseases such as heart attack, stroke, atherosclerosis, early detection of diseases of blood, liver and kidney, screening for colon, skin and prostate cancer, laboratory tests. The examination ends with a detailed consultation. Upon request we will provide a final report with recommendations to your family doctor or transfer you to one of our outstanding specialists.
And while you are in our capable hands, your accompanying family might experience Berlin at its best, with sightseeing and shopping in one of the most exciting cities in the world. We also advise you on finding a suitable hotel, provide you with an interpreter and make sure that you feel completely taken care of.

Practicing your religion

The staff at Johannesstift Diakonie are open and tolerant towards all other faiths. Patients will be able to practice their religion at our hospitals. Leaflets are available at our hospitals containing the addresses of churches, mosques and synagogues.

Berlin

Berlin is an international magnet, it is considered the gateway to the east and it is one of the most exciting and youngest cities in the world. Berlin is a city that never sleeps. Every year millions of tourists meet here to conquer the vibrant and exciting city. Between the rivers Spree and Havel, the lakes Tegeler See, Grunewaldsee and Müggelsee, the traditional, old and morbid Berlin collides with an international big city flair which is shaped by creative artists, fashion designers, IT specialists, filmmakers and students. Berlin has always been contrast – glamor vs. decay, urban Moloch vs. green oasis of peace and tranquility, doner kebab vs. star restaurants, small guesthouses vs. luxury hotels, corner pubs vs. award-winning restaurants.
Experience the finest museums, galleries and theaters, enjoy a boat trip on the lake Wannsee and a walk with the children in one of the most diverse zoos in the world, stroll through the Eastern city with its many small restaurants, boutiques and frills stores and do not miss a trip to the TV tower overlooking Berlin. Come to Berlin – we help you and your family to explore this extraordinary city. www.visitberlin.de/en (also available in Arabic and Russian).

Getting to Berlin

Many roads lead to Berlin. The city currently has two airports and several major railway stations.
The airport Berlin Schönefeld is located on the southern outskirts of Berlin. Many charter airlines and low-cost carriers fly to Schönefeld.
The new Berlin Brandenburg airport (BER) is being build close by. It is expected that the airport will be ready for service in 2013.
The two now existing airports will then be closed and all air traffic in the region will be operated via BER. Tegel Airport is located in the northern part of the city and therefore closer to the inner city than Schönefeld Airport.
Berlin visitors who travel to Berlin by train, arrive at one of Berlin's main train stations. Almost all trains stop at the central train station. All major railway stations have direct access to further public transport.
Of course, we offer our patients an exclusive shuttle service that will take you from your arrival point to one of our hospitals or to your hotel of choice.

Hotels

Hotels in Berlin are ‘a dime a dozen’, accommodating around 10 million visitors per year. There are a total of nearly 125,000 registered overnight options available in Berlin – more than 700 hotels, guesthouses and youth hostels. Each tourist stays an average of about 2.2 days in Berlin – but many stay a lot longer. We will help you to find and book the hotel most suited to you. Choose from small cozy guest houses to luxury five star hotels. Almost all the international hotel chains ere represented in Berlin: Hilton, Hyatt, Mariott, Ritz Carlton, Intercontinental, Four Seasons, etc.. And later this year the Waldorf Astoria is expected to open in the western city center.

There is so much to see and discover in Berlin.
You can find out everything you might want to know about Berlin or see during your visit at www.berlin.de.
